This version of the Tile Spinner is for wheel heads with 10" center bat pins (bat pins 10 inches apart).  If you have a Shimpo Aspire or one of the budget potters wheels from Amazon with a different bat pin spacing, you will need to get the Tile Spinner for that wheel (coming soon).  This particular version of the tile Spinner will not work for those wheels with bat pins that are not 10" apart.
 
Born out of necessity in my production potter's studio, the Tile Spinner is the least expensive way I've found to have a sufficient number of bats.  It fits on your wheelhead and allows you to use cheap bathroom tiles in place of expensive pottery bats.
 
I find this tool speeds up my production time and also let's me rework, add brushwork and imagery, and even do some trimming BEFORE i ever take the vessel off the bat.  It's really helpful for me!

CHEAPEST BATS Cheapest Bat System - You can get more bats at your local hardware store for a fraction of the cost of traditional pottery bats. These Tile Spinners were designed around the of the most common commercial tiles on the market: 4" and 6" Daltile Restore Bright White Squares, and 8"x10" Satori Regent and Gios Hexagon Tiles (comes in a variety of colors under different names).
 
FITS MANY OTHER TILES - Can't find an exact match? No problem! Our SPACER adapters ensure you get a snug fit, even if the tiles you buy vary slightly in size.
 
MAKE YOUR OWN BATS - You can make your own bisque-fired clay bats for free! All you do is: (1) slice or roll out a slab of clay, (2) cut it to the correct size (don't forget clay shrinks in the fire), (3) Dry each tile flat (4) Bisque fire your tiles and (5) you're ready to go! Bisque fired tiles have the additional benefit that they will naturally separate from the pot as they dry, rather than having to be wired off.
