BISQUE ONLY pieces have a rough texture and bright white appearance. They are not glossy and have no glaze on the surface. These are food-safe, microwave-safe or dishwasher-safe, but make great coasters, ornaments and decorative pieces. 

Our STANDARD CLEAR GLAZE forms a hard, glossy shine on the piece. Clear glazes will reveal colors and impressions made on the clay underneath with colored slip and stamps. This glaze will make the pottery food, microwave and dishwasher safe. We have a variety of SPECIALTY GLAZES. Note that these glazes WILL conceal all color underneath and can obscure impressions made by stamps as well. They are however food, microwave and dishwasher safe.
